What is Light Up the Valley?

Light Up the Valley is Hardin Valley's community Christmas festival and tree lighting, planned each year by the members of the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance and paid for by local business sponsors. It gives a fast-growing community with no town square of its own one evening to gather in the same place.

Past years

  • 2023: held Sunday, December 3, from 5 to 7 pm. The plan included food trucks, hot chocolate and cider, cookie and ornament decorating, music from local schools and churches, Santa, the Christmas tree, the Knox County Game Truck and a Karns Fire Department truck.
  • 2025: held Sunday, December 7, from 5 to 7 pm at the Valley Church site on Hardin Valley Rd, with 14 sponsors.
  • 2026: Sunday, December 6, from 5 to 7 pm, with the tree lighting at 6:30 pm.

Want to help plan next year's festival? The Events committee runs it. See how to get involved.
