About the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance
The Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance (HVBCA) was founded in 2021 so businesses and concerned citizens could come together to influence the future of the Hardin Valley community.
Our mission
The Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance exists for three purposes:
- Promote community and business relationships
- Aid in community building
- Active fellowship of members
Our history
A group of business people and interested parties began meeting informally at King College in 2018. The group picked back up on Zoom during COVID and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization.
Five people drafted the bylaws, and the membership adopted them in January 2021. Four volunteers were elected as the first board in March 2021. Members first met in person in May 2021 and have met on the 3rd Wednesday of every month since.
Early projects included a Thanksgiving lunch for Hardin Valley Academy teachers, the Hardin Valley Angel Tree and a drive for the Ben Atchley Veterans Home (Farragut Press, 2022 (opens in a new tab)).
Here in Hardin Valley, we don't have a community identity yet.
Our goals
- Grow members and build them up
- Plan, organize and run community events that help Hardin Valley folks connect
- Build relationships and have fun
- Keep members and the people living and working in Hardin Valley talking to each other
About HVBCA: common questions
What does HVBCA stand for?
HVBCA stands for the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance, a volunteer-run group of Hardin Valley businesses and residents in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Who runs HVBCA?
A volunteer board elected by the members each November. Officers take office in January. See the board members page.
Where does the money from dues go?
Dues pay for insurance, printing, the website and similar costs. The membership votes on the annual budget, as set out in the bylaws.
How can I suggest a project for Hardin Valley?
Come to a meeting and share it, or email info@hvbca.org. The Valley Vision committee gathers ideas from businesses, schools and residents and brings them to the board.

Come to a meeting. Your first two visits are free.
Lunch is at noon on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, at Hardin Valley Church of Christ. Members join for $50 a year.
