COMMITTEES

Welcome to the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance. We encourage you to become an active member by participating in one or more committees. We encourage committees to meet at least quarterly and to look past what’s always been, to envision what could be.

HVBCA Committees: An Opportunity to Serve!

JOIN ONE OF OUR COMMITTEES AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Membership: This committee is key to sustaining the HVBCA and supporting business growth in Hardin Valley, as well as community relationships. The committee should visit businesses and local organizations (ie: HOAs) to solicit membership; should organize ribbon-cutting events for new or remodeled businesses; should serve as greeters at monthly meetings to welcome visitors and new members; should organize Membership events which could include New Member Networking, a Fall Social. Working with the president and president-elect, this committee should develop marketing any other appropriate membership development options. The plan is to encourage members to shop with each other and residents to shop with local businesses. Shop local (or “Shop Hardin Valley First”) is a benefit of membership in the Hardin Valley Business Community Alliance.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Communications: This committee is charged with internal communications with members, maintaining the HVBCA website and social media outlets, and publishing an annual directory of members- either printed and/or online. Additionally, this committee should seek ways to promote Hardin Valley’s many assets and events across Knox County and regionally.

EVENTS COMMITTEE

Events: This committee should produce and/or partner on community events such as parades, holiday functions or other possibilities to be determined by the committee. There are also quarterly Member Networking events coordinated by the Event Committee to encourage relationships and having fun together as well as promote our business members by holding these events at their premises whenever possible.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

Program: This committee will be led by the Vice-President, and they will develop the monthly program including the guest speaker, acquiring prizes for drawing from members for members, and working with the “Spotlight Speaker”.

VALLEY VISION COMMITTEE

Valley Vision: This Committee cooperates with the Board of Directors to provide advice and guidance on community needs, gaps, projects, and possible collaborative partnerships. The Committee shall be composed of a Chair and four (4) members servings three-year terms. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess needs and make recommendations to the Board of Directors
